Helen Georgia

I just love Helen, GA. It's a little Bavarian village in the mountains north of Atlanta.  Even the Wendy's fast food restaurant and the local bank are in costume.

My mother rented a small villa for two nights through booking.com and the one she found was at IGLS resorts at Innsbruck.  It had three bedrooms and had plenty of room for me, mom, my daughter, my brother, his wife, and their son.

My brother and family could only spend the first night with us as they had a baseball game to travel to.  My daughter Kelly came down with a fever and was exhausted after her week of Ranger camp.  So, mom and I just explored. Here she is, leading me on a trail along Smith Creek at Unicoi State Park.

We had planned to go tubing down the Chattahoochee River, which runs through town, but decided against it with thunderstorms all around.  It did not slow others down, though!

We stopped at our favorite bakery for a final treat before driving home.  I highly recommend Hofer's. It was a great 3G (3 generation) gathering of women in my family.  Thank you, Mom!
