Happy Trails Wedding!

Yesterday, two of our friends from the Florida Cracker Trail Ride got married!  (See my post on that adventure at mkspence.blogspot.com.)  Debbi and Mitch got hitched today at Princess Place Preserve, a Flagler County Park of over 2,000 acres overlooking two scenic rivers between Daytona Beach and Jacksonville, FL.

My husband Jim and I took the back roads and "WOW", is old Florida beautiful! The GPS wanted us to take the Interstates from Tampa to Orlando to Daytona and North, but instead we went through Ocala and the Ocala National Forest on State Roads 40 (east) and 11 (north). A friend of mine who used to ride his motorcycle this way recommended the route to us!  I was so happy to see that we have "Florida Scenic Highways"!  What beautiful countryside in the center of the state!  I want to go back and explore this part of the state even further!

The wedding itself was spectacular as it was held under a canopy of mossy-covered live oaks with the river in the background. The bride and groom rode off on horseback after saying their vows!  We went to the reception, just down the road, at the Florida Agriculture Museum.  We sat at burlap covered tables in an old milking barn that was open on all sides. Horses grazed outside while kids played "corn hole" and everyone talked, danced, and sang the afternoon away to the wonderful smell and taste of fall-off-the-bone barbecue!

Thanks, Debbi and Mitch!  You sure know how to throw a party...outside!  We wish you a lifetime of happiness!
